As Takasaki’s PR ambassador, Ms. Jeanette Aw opened a sweet store “Once Upon A Time” in Singapore in the spring of 2021 in addition to her acting career. Since then, in collaboration with Takasaki, she has developed and sold original products using Takasaki fruits. So far, the sweets using Takasaki’s jumbo pears, yuzu, strawberries, etc. have all been well received!
The jumbo pear “Atago,” and “Double Happiness,” along with yuzu fruits both sold out immediately.
“Hime” cakes made with “Yayoihime” strawberries won the gold medal at the Gunma Prefecture Strawberry Fair for four consecutive years. It was created with the hope customers would enjoy the whole flavour of strawberries while enjoying the cake. The cake is boldly topped with large, bold strawberries so that customers can enjoy the taste of the ingredients themselves while picking out individual strawberries. Hime was so well received that the cakes sold out in five minutes!
Ms Aw goes to the farms to learn from the farmers – their harvesting and management methods, and fuses their hard work into her creations. Each time, she surprises and impresses her customers with her innovative combinations of ingredients and bold yet delicate presentation (both in taste and appearance).
This year, the collaboration with Takasaki strawberries will return in a new form! Jeanette made a surprise return visit to the Kanai Strawberry Farm in Takasaki, getting a unique opportunity to hold the strawberries and taste them in her hands. Jeanette said they were sweet, juicy, fragrant, and the best strawberries she had ever eaten.
You can order Jeanette’s sweets online by pre-order.
We are planning to sell the strawberries used in Jeanette’s cakes, so please look forward to it. We will announce the sales on Takasaki Trinnion HP, Instagram and Facebook.
